The St. Stephen Lutheran School Run-A-Thon was a great success! Thank you so much for your participation in this year’s fundraiser!! What a blessing it was to have so many of our parents show up and give their support for our hard-working students! Not to mention everyone had lots of fun!
Through our annual Run-A-Thon, our students learn the importance of exercise, as well as raising money for SSLS! In the past, this fundraiser has helped us to purchase extra school items to enhance the students learning and play (such as 9-square, chromebooks, class pets, and playground equipment).
The event started off with some stretching and warm-up exercises, lead by Pastor Luke. They called this warm-up exercise "the mummy":
From there, all of the students started running laps! I was standing down the block tallying up their laps:
In addition to running, our students performed other activities such as jumping jacks, push-ups, shooting baskets, juggling and pogo stick jumping! Many of our students exceeded their expected goals in a number of the exercise categories. Their endurance and encouragement for each other was really impressive!
